Programs and Events

PFAParent and Family Orientation: Parent orientation sessions are held concurrently with Ignition sessions (New Student Orientation) and are designed to address matters of particular interest to you as a parent, guardian, or family member. During parent and family orientation you will receive an overview of campus resources available to your student, receive important financial aid information, as well as strategies for supporting the successful transition of your student to the University.

Parent and Family Weekend: Held early in the Fall Semester, Parent and Family Weekend is a celebration of academics, athletics, entertainment, and involvement at KSU. Members of the Parent and Family Association will receive an emailed invitation to Parent and Family Weekend.

Additional Programming and Information: Parent and Family Association members are provided a variety of additional opportunities to stay involved, informed, and invested. Regular programming invites members to campus for events. For example, our annual Sophomore Prep Series, open to all PFA members, offers parents and families the opportunity to gain important information as their student transitions into their next years of college. Monthly newsletters keep members updated and "in the know". Some programs, like our No Taste Like Home Recipe Contest, take place from the comfort of our members' own homes! And a host of other benefits are available for PFA Members.

Parent and Family Handbook: If you missed orientation, you will want to check out the Parent and Family Handbook. This guide is full of helpful information for parents
